Chamber Executive Committee

Listed below in alphabetical order.

Jonathan Allara is new to the Executive in 2009-2010. He is the co-owner of the Manly Bike Tours business founded in 2007, and their innovative tourism based business is thriving. For the 8 years prior to this he worked for KPMG advising and implementing strategy for large and small business. Wanting to get more involved in Manly, Jonathon seeks to represent new, small and growing tourism based business within the precinct.

Mark Eymes, who has served on the Executive for number of years, is the Chamber retail expert, with over 25 years in the surf industry. He owns and actively manages Billabong Manly and Australian Surfer HQ, and is a key advisor to members on retail management, operations and all things Manly.

Drew Johnson, beginning his first year on the Executive Committee, is the joint owner/manager of the Bank of Queensland Branch in Manly. Boasting over 1000 businesses, manly of them local, as his clients, Drew has strong links into the Manly business community and is the Executives banking and financial expert.

Ian Miller, a long standing member of the Executive Committee, previously owned and operated real estate agencies on the lower north shore. He is heavily involved in the Crows Nest Mainstreet Board, and has a valued opinion on matters from the landlord / property owner’s point of view. Ian’s current businesses include both  retail / commercial property and hotel / motel operations.

John Kelleher (President), who was elected to the Executive Committee in 2007, was formerly the joint Managing Director of a Property Investment and Management company and is currently the President of the Fragile X Association of Australia, a national organisation with its offices in Manly. Fragile X is the the most common form of inherited mental disability. 

Jaron Mitchell, new to the Executive in 2009-2010, is the joint owner/manager of 4 Pines Brewing Company, a boutique beer brewery located in Manly, the first of its kind to the area. With a strong background in hospitality and service, Jaron is the voice for boutique bars and resturants on the committee.

Laurian Powers beginning her first year on the Executive Committee, is the owner of Latitude, a boutique retail business on Sydney Road. With a strong marketing and sales background, and now a venture into in the boutique retail realm, Laurian seeks to represent small retail owners and to provide them with a collective voice

Frank Prespitino, a member of the Executive for three years, a former chief strategist at Oracle and now the General Manager of the International College of Management, is the educational, IT and research specialist on the Executive. Also the author of Getting to Big the Small Way, Frank is wealth of knowledge.

Bob Smith (Vice President)  has served as Chamber President on and off for over 10 years. Bob’s business involvement spans across multiple categories, with strong property development and management accruements. Bob has and continues to represent the Chamber on various Council committees and was awarded for Manly Citizen in 2009.

Mark Stanley (Treasurer), elected on to the Executive Committee in 2008, manages the Quest Grand Esplanade Serviced Apartments. Mark is well informed of tourism trends and management, and is an ever-approachable service provider in Manly.

John Worrell (Vice President), who is beginning his second year on the Chamber Executive, is the owner of Tourminders Australia and Manly TV. Heralding from a production background, John is a true Manly local, found surfing at North Steyne every morning, always with a camera in hand.
